The Roach II — STCY's upgraded take on the classic Roach—is a modern eighties shortboard killer: fast, sensitive, and turns junky, weak waves into pure fun. It’s a mash-up of the original Roach and Rab 3 vibes—wide for speed, but dialled for tight turns and that effortless glide. Great for one-to-four-foot slop, super comfy paddle, and it feels alive underfoot.

Outline

The Roach II features a modern 80’s shortboard outline. It’s a combination of the Roach & the Rab 3 which was originally designed by Lee Stacey, Bob Hurley & Rabbit Bartholomew. Lengthened rail line for extra speed, wide mid-section for stability and quick entry, pulled-in tail with a double bump to keep control sharp without killing flow.

Rocker

Long, low entry—effortless paddling and early speed in small stuff. Low accelerated tail rocker for full freedom, quick pivots, and that snappy turn radius.

Concave

Heavy Vee up front to slice into waves, deep single through the front foot for drive and zip, mild Vee out back for buttery rail-to-rail transitions.

Tail

Double bump swallow—split and winged for sharp release, holds edge on carves, but lets you flick it loose when you want.
